Victorian Style, Windsor England.

Can you imagine how excited I became on seeing a green one?

This one is situated immediately adjacent to the Guildhall in Windsor,  Green was adopted as the standard colour for the early Victorian post boxes.

Victoria: 1837-1901

This one is not in use.

Balmain

Located outside Balmain Court House on Darling Street Balmain.

Summer Hill, Sydney

Located on Sloane Street and Grosnevor Cres.

Initially these boxes were manufactured by Robert Bubb and Son of Pyrmont.

Ultimo, Sydney

Located Parramatta Road and Wattle Street.

1867 saw an amendment to the NSW Postal Act,  with maximum penalty of £50 to those convicted of damaging or destroying letter boxes.

Concord West, Sydney

Located on Wilga Street, near Concord Road.

Camperdown, Sydney

Located on Parramatta Road near Missenden Road.

The boxes we see around Sydney were  designed by T. W. Levinge of the New South Wales Postmaster General's Department.

They were based upon a Belgian design.
